witnessed the eclipse this year!

i stayed up all night. as everyone slept i was outside being a part of history. armed with my phone to keep my facebook friends updated, my iTouch with a playlist of some newly released albums (my beautiful dark twisted fantasy, loud, the beginning..), my casio camera to capture the moment and keep me from dying of boredom. i stayed out for about 2and a half ours, only going upstairs for a hot cocoa break. it was peaceful and a beautiful sight. i froze my ass off but im glad i came out.

christmas is in the air

went to Rockefeller center to see the tree lighting. this is something i haven't seen since i was a small child. i went alone. i've been doing a lot of things alone these days. i like to have company but i find i have as good a time when i'm solo. so i set out on my journey, where my destination is unknown(another thing i've been doing a lot lately). the MOMA is in this area.
earlier that day i read there was a terrorist treat at Rockefeller Center. some guy tried to drive a van around a large group of people and blow up everything by the tree. he was caught but they upped security.
when i advanced past security i ended up in a gated area with a bunch of people i ended up joking around with them. some from Arizona, Rhode island, the Philippines.

my professor has been describing family and how it applies to sociology. the one particular subject that caught my interest was marriage. he says just like there is polygamy(men with many wives simultaneously), there is also polyandry (women with many husbands simultaneously). when i heard this i almost didn't believe it. i had never heard of that happening anywhere. also i've never seen such a lifestyle depicted on television. i am insanely curious about how i wold be to live such a way. is the woman a housewife, and shes just taking care of all these guys? or maybe its sexual and they have all agreed to share her.

then came the topic of group marriage. some couple get together and marry each other. i don't know if its for financial reasons. maybe they are swingers and trust each other. but either way it sounded cool to me. when i researched it online, it said something about couples who decide to get married at the same time as their friends. this is not what i was looking for but it does offer a solution to how having other friends that are married can keep couples together longer.

all in all, who knows when i will hear wedding bells and decide to tie the knot.
